The Design | Construct Process

1. Come in to see us.

Bring your plans or ideas to Bluewater Building. We will sit down with you to discuss designs, products, cost effectiveness and answer any questions you might have about the construction of your new home. Even with only a basic set of plans we will be able to give you a budget estimate on the build cost.

2. Working Drawings.

The next step is to get a full set of working drawings, energy efficiency ratings and engineering completed so that a final price can be fixed. We work with several architects and designer/draft people so finding the right person to complete the design and drawings can be taken care of.

3. Quote submission and contracts.

Bluewater Building will submit a detailed costing of your new home with a complete addenda, specifying all the materials, appliances and fixtures we have allowed. Once the final price is fixed the contracts are signed. We use and recommend MBA or HIA residential contracts.

4. Insurance and Shire.

We apply for construction indemnity insurance and then submit your plans to shire, health department and water authority.

5. Building.

We will start booking in trades as soon as your plans are submitted to shire. This ensures that as soon as the plans are approved we are ready to commence construction. You can expect your home to be built on time and on budget with minimal fuss or bother.
